Kim Kardashian got candid about being a mom to her four children — even admitting that she felt like she is raising them on her own.
On the Wednesday, November 12 episode of the What In the Winkler podcast, Kardashian, 44, spoke with host Zoe Winkler about the challenges of parenting, recognizing that the two have a lot in common in their roles as mothers.
"I think you and I've mostly connected on parenting," The Kardashians star told the podcast host, who is Henry Winkler's daughter. "And judgment, and feeling like sometimes you're in this alone, even though we have great support systems and we have people around us."
Kardashian is the mother of four children — North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5 — all of whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West. Though the exes were granted joint legal and physical custody of their kids in their 2022 divorce, a source claimed to People at the time that "Kim is the primary caregiver." (One month after their tumultuous split, West went on to marry Bianca Censori.)
Kardashian appeared to confirm as much on the podcast, going as far as to say that she is raising the kids on her own. She also admitted that she has avoided talking about her parenting woes over fears it would spark a discourse on privilege and resources.
"But sometimes in the middle of the night," she continued, "when they're all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it's not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment or people always will jump to the, 'Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help.' And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, basically raising four kids by myself."
She detailed her early morning school routine that she has with the kids, saying, "I mean even carpool this morning, I had five kids that I had to take," she said, though she didn't name the fifth child. "And everyone wants to leave at, like, different times or wants different stuff. And I feel like I'm at like a pit stop of a race car driver."
