The Kardashian family is known to keep their political views private. However, during the latest presidential inauguration, Kim Kardashian decided to show her support for Melania Trump, seemingly praising the former and new First Lady for her elegant ensemble at the swearing-in ceremony.
Kim took to social media to share a photo of Melania arriving at the ceremony, which took place at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington D.C. Melania made headlines for her look, which she topped off with an Eric Javits boater hat.
Fans of the reality star shared mixed reactions after she shared the photo, which many took as a statement. Despite Kim not being vocal about politics all the time, she is known to be friends with former first daughter and political advisor Ivanka Trump, spending quality time together and recently wishing her a happy birthday.
Kim Kardashian's friendship with Ivanka Trump:
"Kim and Ivanka have been friends for years and have hung out on a number of occasions," a source said to Us Weekly. The pair have been photographed together multiple times, and Ivanka was also spotted at Kim's birthday dinner, which was filmed for Hulu's reality show 'The Kardashians.'
The insider explained that they "initially bonded ... over motherhood and being new moms. But they continued to connect numerous times over the years." The pair also posed together at the star-studded unveiling of the new casino Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Melania's outfit at the inauguration ceremony:
Melania stepped out in a silk wool Adam Lippes coat and skirt paired with an ivory blouse and black gloves. The New York-born and based designer shared a statement about the look chosen for the special occasion. “The tradition of the presidential inauguration embodies the beauty of American democracy and today we had the honor to dress our first lady, Mrs. Melania Trump,” Lippes said.
The designer continued, “Mrs. Trump’s outfit was created by some of America’s finest craftsmen and I take great pride in showing such work to the world.”
