Kourtney Kardashian has attracted fury from some social media commenters after she shared photos of her home's lavish Christmas decorations.
The reality star took to her Instagram account on Monday to share how her property was decorated for the upcoming holiday. The first photo showed off a large Christmas tree in her home's entryway, followed by a snap of her Christmas tablescape with red ribbons and then a shot of a red tree and red balloons.
She also uploaded a video of her taking a tour through her and her husband Travis Barker's home, revealing six more red Christmas trees. The carousel also included a photo of the 45-year-old holding onto a large snow globe as well as throwback photos from other Christmas displays over the years.
Kardashian captioned the photos, "hello December"—and some commenters aren't happy.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Kardashian for comment on Tuesday.
"Over consumption is disgusting," one person wrote, which had over 2,340 likes at the time of writing.
"Who needs this many Xmas trees. Why not donate to family's who can't have Christmas?" someone else asked.
"If only this whole family could see how it feels to make a beautiful Christmas for their family with less than $500 a week paycheck. I can't imagine how much money they spend on Christmas. And here I am wondering how I'm even going to do anything plus bills and food. My kids won't get much but they know they're loved more than anything. That's what matters," another person commented.
A fourth person added: "Why do all their homes always look so cold."
Not everyone had negative things to say about the post, as TV personality Adrienne Eliza Bailon-Houghton wrote: "Loveeeeee."
"You Kardashian ladies would do well decorating the White House. Just beautiful," someone else commented.
Another commenter stood up for the reality star, telling people to "stop crying out that it isn't fair." They wrote: "if the trees don't get used then they were chopped for nothing and go to waste anyway! Who's to say she doesn't donate them after for fire wood or whatever? People saying she needs to use that money on the needy, well.i hey you're all sitting there with your house with too much food and your decorations and the your gadgets and devices and subscriptions- why don't you give up all of your luxuries and nice things and donate them to poorer than you people? Nobody owes anyone their money that belongs to them, charity work is optional. And not everyone brags about the charity world they do [sic]."
Kardashian is no stranger to decorating her home, as she had just recently celebrated Halloween. Uploading a post to Instagram on October 4 with the caption "Hello October," one photo showed an impressive pumpkin arrangement on the stairs outside her home and another showed two blow-up skeletons in a compromising position on her lawn.
However, some people found the skeletons inappropriate, with one person commenting: "You have children and you think the skeletons positions is appropriate. Ugh tacky."
Not everyone was scandalized by the display, as someone else wrote: "One skeleton is sitting on the lap of the other. Quit making things out to be what its obviously not."
