The Kardashian family has a longer history with the Menendez brothers than expected.

On the Thursday, February 6, season 6 premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kris Jenner revealed to daughters Kim, Kourtney, and Kendall that she knew the Menendez brothers in the 1980s.

After Kim, 44, mentioned that Ryan Murphy was working on his Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story — which explores the story behind the two men who killed their parents in 1989 — Kris chimed in, "Oh my God. You know I knew those guys? In the 80s?"

Kourtney, 45, asked if her mom knew the parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, but the 69-year-old momager clarified that Erik spent time at their Beverly Hills home with her ex-husband, the late Robert Kardashian.

"No. I knew the kids because Erik used to come over and play tennis with your dad on the weekends," the Kardashian matriarch told her daughters.

Kim, who has been vocal in the two brothers' fight for freedom, recalled discussing the case as a teenager with her father — a successful attorney who famously represented OJ Simpson in his murder trial in the '90s.

"I remember my dad talking about the case, and I remember the whole case growing up in Beverly Hills; that's where we were," the SKIMS founder told cameras. "The trial, I think, happened when I was, like, 13, so there were big cases that I would love to talk to my Dad about, and so this was one of them."

The reality star admitted that her opinion on the case has changed since she started her legal journey.

"Now, being older and seeing it from a different lens, 35 years later, and knowing what I know now about the system, I just have a whole different outlook on it," she noted in her confessional.

Lyle, 57 and Erik, 54 have been behind bars for nearly 35 years for killing their parents. The brothers have maintained the murder was self-defense, alleging their parents abused them both physically and sexually.

In October 2024, Kim penned a personal essay for NBC about how the brothers should be released from prison, writing in part, "I have spent time with Lyle and Erik; they are not monsters. They are kind, intelligent, and honest men."
