Kroy Biermann has filed for divorce from Kim Zolciak for the third time.
After the former Real Housewives of Atlanta couple jointly dismissed their initial filing, which was made nearly two years ago in Fulton County, Georgia, Kroy, 39, filed a new set of court documents in Cobb County after Kim, 46, relocated to Cobb after the $2.7 million sale of their family mansion.
On February 21, TMZ confirmed the news of the latest divorce filing, noting that it came just after Kim requested Kroy be tested for chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a common occurrence in football players due to repeated hits to the head.
As she remains locked in a court battle with her estranged husband, Kim is focused on work and her oldest daughter Brielle Biermann‘s upcoming wedding to Billy Seidl.
“I’m so excited … I’ve been working a lot so we’re gonna go do the whole dress thing. I just can’t believe it’s happening … there’s a lot … we’ve looked at a lot of [designers],” Kim said in a video shot by BACKGRID and obtained by the Daily Mail. “She’s easy — I think.”
In the clip, Kim was seen at the airport, where she spoke of discussions with “four different networks” for “four shows.”
“I’m thankful for that … I feel great,” she shared.
As for her split from Kroy, Kim shaded her former partner for his past antics against her, which allegedly included physical violence.
“I’m a rational person, honestly. I’m a normal, rational person that doesn’t see the need for any of this controlling chaos. I don’t,” she stated. “But it’s all good. I wish him well. I do.”
After noting that she “[doesn’t] care” if Kroy is dating, Kim said she refuses to subscribe to the “torture” she’s sustained from Kroy.
“Torture. I have [dealt with it] for years,” she shared. “I’m gonna take the high road for my kids … I’m not gonna sit here and do what Kroy’s tried to do to me … [But] I hope he’s happy for my kids’ sake.”
Also during the interview, after laughing off the possibility of seeing rumored flame Chet Hanks, 34, during her trip, Kim said that despite her battle with Kroy, she “absolutely” wants to settle down eventually.
“It’s gonna take me a long time to heal from the trauma I’ve experienced,” she noted.
Kim and Kroy also starred on eight seasons of Don’t Be Tardy, which aired on Bravo until December 2020.
