Kyle Walker and Annie Kilner make 'final decision' on marriage after 'pausing' divorce plans

3 hours ago 2

Kyle Walker and Annie Kilner have made a significant decision about their future. Last year, it was reported that Annie had consulted with lawyers to iron out the details of their marriage.

This included financial implications and custody arrangements in case they decided to part ways. In October, rumours circulated that Annie was allegedly battling for half of Kyle's staggering £27 million fortune.

The couple, who met as teenagers in Sheffield, tied the knot in 2022 after a 12-year relationship. The Sheffield-born defender, aged 34, is reportedly considering a move to Saudi Arabia, reports the Mirror.

Amid these discussions, it was reported that Annie, 33, had put their divorce proceedings on hold. Friends of the former model have denied that the potentially "life-changing" contract has influenced Annie's decision.

However, the Mirror can now shed light on the situation behind closed doors at their Prestbury, Cheshire, mansion. Sources close to the couple in Cheshire have told the Mirror that any speculation that Annie is staying with Kyle for his money is "nonsense."

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Annie had paused their ongoing issues due to discussions about Kyle's potential move to Saudi, where he could earn over £400,000 per week.

"Any suggestion that Annie is staying with Kyle for financial benefit is absolute nonsense and pure speculation," a source has disclosed, firmly dismissing such claims. They also stated: "The couple are still navigating their relationship behind the scenes but will always come together to be there for their children who they both absolutely adore."

"They enjoyed a family Christmas together and are looking ahead to the new year to see what may be on the horizon," indicating that perhaps the sparks between them aren't entirely extinguished.

Over Christmas, the pair were all smiles as they posed with their brood—Roman, 12, Riaan, eight, Reign, six, and five-month-old Rezon—celebrating the festive period as a unit. During this time, they seemingly put Kyle's past indiscretions out of mind, one year after Lauryn Goodman told Annie that he was the father of her child, Kinara.

Goodman, who made a splash on Celebs Go Dating, conveyed to Annie her desire to approach her directly, saying she felt it right to have a chat as she and Annie had both been misled by Kyle.

Lauryn shares two kids with Walker; son Kairo, aged four, and daughter Kinara.

After a rocky patch in which Kyle moved out of their Prestbury abode following their split, Annie and her husband sought to rekindle their connection. Walker admitted his grave error afterwards, accepting complete accountability for his actions and describing it as a "horrible" mistake.

Despite his contrition, reports surfaced in October of Annie consulting divorce lawyers. The couple had chosen to go their separate ways and had already been sleeping in separate rooms for some time, despite still living together. Walker had also begun making arrangements for a formal divorce by consulting with his lawyers.

Although he was reportedly taken aback when Annie served him with divorce papers, he remained open to discussion and held onto the hope that their marriage could be salvaged. A source revealed to MailOnline in October: "She is divorcing Kyle because she just can't forgive him for what he's done to her. She can't get over it.

"She has tried. Kyle seems to have accepted it's over. He's been happier in the last week or so. Like the weight of the world 's been lifted from his shoulders."

At the time, insiders suggested that Annie's decision to marry Kyle was motivated by both love and a desire to "secure a financial windfall for herself and their children."

According to the Mirror, Annie had been seeking guidance from fellow WAGs in Cheshire as she navigated the challenges of her relationship with Kyle.

Sources have alleged that Annie had been scheming to profit from Walker's fame "for years," claiming to friends that she "made him."

Bombshell texts obtained by The Sun before the couple's wedding reportedly show Annie venting: "It's the same old s***t, he's been doing it for 10 years," in reference to Kyle's infidelity. The incendiary messages are said to continue with: "I have been his backbone pals all these years. I helped to make him what he is."

Insiders at the time suggested that while Annie's marriage to Kyle was for love, it was also a move to "secure a financial windfall for herself and their children."

However, just months earlier, the Mirror reported that the couple were optimistic about the future and aimed to move past Kyle's cheating.

A source previously told the Mirror: "Annie and Kyle are looking forward to a resolution of the whole situation and hope that this latest chapter brings them just that."

The Mirror has reached out to representatives for Kyle and Annie for comment.
