Lauren Sánchez and her fiancé Jeff Bezos will be blending families.
Sánchez was previously married to Patrick Whitesell from 2005 to 2019. Together, the exes share two kids: Evan and Ella.
The “Fly Who Flew To Space” author also shares son Nikko with her ex-partner Tony Gonzalez.
Bezos, for his part, is a parent as well. The Amazon CEO shares four kids with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, whom he was married to from 1993 to 2019.

Tony Gonzalez
Tony Gonzalez is a retired NFL player-turned-sports commentator.
Gonzalez is regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, having played for the Kansas City Chiefs for the first 12 seasons of his football career until he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he remained until his retirement in 2013.
He went on to become an analyst for CBS Sports and Fox Sports before transitioning to his commentator role for the NFL on Prime Video.
It’s unclear when Gonzalez and Sánchez started dating, but they welcomed their son Nikko in 2001.
Seven years later, the former athlete and his partner, October, held a commitment ceremony, though they never legally married.
The couple share three children: daughters Malia and Sophia and son River.
Nikko
The former news anchor gave birth to her child with Gonzales, a son named Nikko, on Feb. 12, 2001.
Sánchez and Gonzalez have remained amicable as they continue to co-parent their eldest child.
She even referred to Gonzalez as her “best friend” in an interview with WSJ. magazine published January 2023.
Sánchez and the ex-football player reunited to celebrate Nikko’s college graduation in June 2024.
Like his parents, Nikko clearly enjoys the spotlight and he famously walked in a Dolce & Gabbana runway show that same month.
Sánchez gushed about Nikko’s model moment, calling herself a “proud mom” at the time.
Patrick Whitesell
Sánchez dated Patrick Whitesell, an executive chairman of Endeavor, for two years before they tied the knot in 2005.
During their marriage, they welcomed their son Evan and their daughter Ella in 2006 and 2008, respectively.
Sánchez filed to divorce Whitesell in April 2019 — one day after Bezos’s divorce from Scott was finalized.
Sources at the time claimed that Sánchez and Whitesell had been separated for months and that she had been going on dates with the billionaire. Bezos and Sánchez even told their respective spouses about their affair in November 2018.
“Although they were having issues and separated, Patrick had been suspicious for a while,” a source told Page Six at the time. “But he really only found out the extent of Lauren’s betrayal recently. MacKenzie Bezos also had her suspicions.”
Whitesell moved on from Sánchez with Australian beauty Pia Miller, whom he married in 2021.

Sánchez and her then-husband welcomed their first child together, son Evan, on June 22, 2006.
The proud mom of three celebrated her son getting into college in December 2024, sharing at the time that he was going to be studying at the University of Miami.
“My heart is bursting. Beyond proud of you. Love you,” she wrote on Instagram at the time along with a baby photo of Evan.
Sánchez has shared glimpses of her close relationship with Evan, like when they traveled to Kyoto, Japan, for a mother-son adventure in October 2022.
“Making memories in Kyoto with my son 🤍” she captioned a video from their trip at the time.
Ella Whitesell
The pilot and Whitesell became girl-parents when they welcomed their daughter Ella on Jan. 15, 2008.
Sánchez has kept Ella relatively private from the spotlight, though she did celebrate her 16th birthday with a sweet post on Instagram in January 2024.
“Happy Birthday baby girl. I can’t believe You are already 16. It seems like just yesterday I took this pic of you,” Sánchez captioned a throwback snap of Ella as a child.
“In your quiet strength, you’ve grown, not with loud fanfares, but with the gentle grace of a sunrise,” she continued. “Each day, you show us the beauty of dedication and the power of quiet dreams.
