Leaked photos of the Galaxy S25 Ultra confirm razor-thin bezels

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is less than three weeks away, but much like the years, the leaks just keep coming. Though we’ve seen potential renders of the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the past, have been few actual photos of one. Now a leaked image shows the phone and its incredibly-thin bezels, giving us a better idea of what to expect at launch.

The picture was shared on X by known tipster Jukanlosreve (who also credited Ice Universe, another leaker). It depicts the right side of what is supposedly the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the slender bezels on its side and corners. The photo appears to possibly be cropped from a larger picture, with parts of the background blurred out.

The pictures line up with the last supposed photos of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, enforcing the idea of ultra-thin bezels. There’s still no exact measurement, but Jukanlosreve’s picture is clearer than previous shots and make it easy to see where the bezels begin and end.

The leak also confirms the S25 Ultra will have more rounded corners than its predecessor, but the other design details appear to be relatively the same.

As we draw closer and closer to the unveiling of the S25 series, more details about the upcoming devices continue to emerge. We already know a lot about what to expect from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, including a few less-than-fortunate details like not tracking devices that have no battery. There have been enough leaks that corroborate specific details that we can make a relatively confident assumption they are correct, but we’ll know more when Samsung holds its showcase.

Galaxy Unpacked is expected to be held on January 22.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could miss out on a crucial tracking feature

One of the lost object-tracking updates that appeared for Android phones this year was the ability to locate them even when they run out of juice. The convenience is shipped as part of Android’s Find My Device system. It, however, appears that Samsung’s next flagship will miss out on that convenience.

The folks over at Android Authority did some code sleuthing and spotted details of a disabled Bluetooth-finding protocol. Owing to the inactive status, the phone won't appear on the location-finding map once it runs out of battery juice. Before we proceed further, do keep in mind that these are pre-launch details about unreleased hardware, so the situation might change down the road.

There’s more evidence the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim won’t be released for a while

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in January is set to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup, although most likely without the S25 Slim. Despite recent leaks that suggested all four phones might make an appearance, another leak has emerged that supports the already well-supported idea of a second-quarter release for that phone.

A quick refresher: The Galaxy S25 Slim was discovered by its model number, SM-S937. That identifier is important. The latest One UI 7 beta has a list of carrier-specific phone models, according to Android Authority. It mentions the U.S. variants of the models, the SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938 — or the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, respectively. There's no mention of the S25 Slim.

As we reach the end of the year, and with no more announcements planned until 2025, it’s time to revisit the two biggest phone players in the U.S. and compare and contrast the past 12 months for each.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra proved to be a blessing and a curse for Samsung, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 reaffirmed that this was the case. Samsung’s phones are fantastic, but struggle to stand out among the competition. Each competitor is targeting different Galaxy features to best, and so far, Samsung hasn’t pivoted course.
