Flavor Flav has proposed a way to help support Leighton Meester after her home burned down in the Palisades fire that costs nothing and which everyone can enjoy. Stream her old pop music. No seriously, it's actually really good and it's gone undervalued for way too long anyway.

On January 15, Flav posted a video of himself dancing to Meester's 2009 single, “Somebody to Love” and added the text, “Starting to hype up my girl Leighton Meester and help her family recover from the fire.” He added in the caption, “Stream @LeightonMeester Somebody to Love and use the song in yo TikTok’s 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾.”

But beloved rapper and reality star Flavor Flav wasn't the only one urging followers to support Meester's erstwhile pop career. Gibson Johns on Twitter wrote, “Can the internet also do what it did for Heidi Montag’s criminally underrated old music to Leighton Meester’s incredibly underappreciated pop music? Her house also burned down and that music deserves its time in the sun!!!”

And suddenly there's been a resurgence of support for Leighton Meester's pop music all over social media. Twitter users have chimed in with, “We as a society need to respect Leighton Meester’s short-lived yet iconic pop career more,” and, “the way leighton meester ate the country girlies up with this one,” referring to the track, “A Little Bit Stronger” from the movie Country Strong. On TikTok, another creator hopped on the Leighton Meester support train with the comment, “Gotta support this trend because my Roman Empire is how Leighton Meester's singing career didn't absolutely pop off.”

And the internet's combined efforts appear to be working. Meester's 2014 album Heartstrings is now charting at number 21 on iTunes, according to Rolling Stone, while her 2010 single “Your Love’s a Drug” has also cracked the iTunes chart.
