Leonardo DiCaprio & Vittoria Ceretti Spark Engagement Rumors Weeks After He Turned 50

Is Leonardo DiCaprio starting a new chapter after turning 50 on Nov. 11? That’s what a few fans thought after rumors started to fly that the Oscar winner was engaged to his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti. That would be quite the milestone for the eternal bachelor if it’s true!

A tipster reportedly spilled the tea via email to the unverified Instagram gossip account, DeuxMoi. This isn’t the first time the couple has been subjected to these rumors. In March, fans thought that the 26-year-old model’s new ring was given to her by DiCaprio, but that story turned out to be false — and it looks like the latest engagement tale is too. 

Page Six confirmed with a source close to the Titanic star that DiCaprio and Ceretti are not engaged.  “This is nothing more than an Internet rumor,” the insider shared while noting that the engagement news “comes up every month” and they are used to the noise. The duo seems content with their relationship and there has been no push to walk down the aisle. Still, DiCaprio’s dating life has been the source of much contention over the years — he gets older, and the women stay the same age. 

PR crisis expert Eric Schiffer told the Daily Mail that he believes DiCaprio is “stuck in an emotional time warp.” He believes that the actor’s fame got in the way of his development. “You often find people get ‘stuck’ at the age they became famous. Leo dated 23-year-olds when he became famous and he’s still dating them today,” Schiffer explained. “It smacks of emotional immaturity when a person cannot find deep, meaningful love with someone their own age.”

DiCaprio rarely gives interviews unless he’s promoting a film, but he never answers questions about his personal life. Instead, fans have to put the pieces together from what his ex-girlfriends have to say about the time they spent with DiCaprio. 

Gisele Bündchen, who dated him from 2000-2005, told Vanity Fair in 2009 that it wasn’t a heated split. “We know what we had; we were very young, and we grew together in a lot of ways,” she shared. “We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best.”

So, for fans trying to crack the code about DiCaprio’s mysterious dating life, it probably isn’t going to happen. He certainly has a type, but he’s also showing no interest in getting married right now.
