Liam Neeson is done with dating.

The Taken star, 72, shared the declaration about his romantic life in a People cover story published online on Wednesday, October 23. When asked if he is dating, the star of the upcoming film Absolution responded, "No, in a word. I'm past all that."

He was previously married to fellow actor Natasha Richardson, whom he met while they were both starring in Anna Christie on Broadway in 1993. She was married to theater producer Robert Fox at the time, but later admitted to falling for Neeson quickly.

"Working with him, what happened between us, and that becoming public knowledge in conjunction with my marriage falling apart, was kind of bad timing," Richardson told the New York Daily News. "So what can I say? Obviously I fell very much in love with him."

Shortly after the close of their play — in which their chemistry was lauded, and they both earned Tony nominations — Richardson ended her marriage to Fox. She and Neeson bought a farmhouse together in upstate New York, and tied the knot there in 1994. They welcomed son Micheál on June 22, 1995, and Daniel on August 27, 1996.

In 2009, The Parent Trap actress fell and hit her head while skiing in Québec, leading to a traumatic brain injury. Neeson spoke with 60 Minutes in 2014 about saying goodbye to his wife of about 15 years. "I went in to her and told her I loved her," he recalled, of visiting Richardson while she was on life support.

"[I] said, 'Sweetie, you're not coming back from this. You've banged your head. It's — I don't know if you can hear me, but that's — this is what's gone down. And we're bringing you back to New York. All your family and friends will come.' And that was more or less it,'" he shared.

Since her death, Neeson has only been linked to one woman, businessman Freya St. Johnston. The pair, who first started dating over a year after Richardson's death, were together for two years before going their separate ways.

Earlier in his career, Neeson had also been linked to Barbara Streisand, Brooke Shields, and Helen Mirren, with whom he starred in 1981's Excalibur.
