Liam Payne's Death 'Not Surprising,' Says Sheriff Discussing Pink Cocaine: 'This Is Death'

4 weeks ago 3

A police officer is speaking out about the dangers of one of the drugs that Liam Payne took before his death.

As Perezcious readers know, the One Direction singer died last week after jumping from his fourth-story hotel room balcony. According to ABC News sources, initial autopsy findings uncovered that he had multiple drugs in his system, including cocaine, crack, and benzodiazepine. There was also a popular new combination of drugs known as “pink cocaine,” which is usually a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and other drugs. This is what authorities are so worried about now.

On Thursday, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder from Florida opened up about the dangers of pink cocaine — claiming it’s likely what led to the Strip That Down crooner’s death. He told WPEC:

“They’re seeing something in pink, it’s such a misnomer, it’s like almost something that’s pleasant. This is not pleasant. This is death.”

On what makes this specific combo so deadly, he added:

“There is no cocaine in this mixture. It’s a combination of various hallucinogenics, like MDMA, ketamine, and others. Every single batch will have a different grouping of drugs, in different amounts. It’s only a matter of time before fentanyl shows up in one of these batches.”

Oh, that’s terrifying. Fentanyl has already killed so many people.

Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers also expressed fears about the drug. While it hasn’t reached his community yet, he’s just counting the days. He said:

“A deadly cocktail is what it is. It’s not surprising that he died as a result of this, and I imagine as we start to see it on the Treasure Coast, we’ll see more overdose(s). […] Just a matter of time before we start to see it. This is something that will surely kill more people, and will be something that is definitely something that will be a problem for us.”

What makes this so scary is that, unlike opioids, Narcan CAN’T reverse the effects of pink cocaine, also known as Tuci. Yikes! He shared:

“It’s not going to reverse the effects of MDMA, it’s not going to reverse the effects of meth, it’s only going to work on those opioids.”

So, that makes it even harder to help someone who’s taken this! Both sheriffs — who are not involved in Liam’s case — told the outlet that they believe the drug has the potential of becoming a large-scale lethal problem, just like fentanyl. Sheriff Snyder urged:

“I hope that nobody listening to this is tempted to use it. Listen to me: it’s dangerous, you have no idea, when you snort this or inject or however you take it, what the effect will be. You’re risking your life, playing Russian Roulette with not one bullet in the chamber, but four.”

Jeez.

This stuff is no joke. And it is particularly frightening that every batch is different! You never know what you’re really getting. Oof.

As mentioned, pink cocaine has been rising in popularity. In Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones‘ lawsuit against Diddy filed earlier this year, obtained by People, he claimed “all employees, from the butler to the chef to the housekeepers” were required to “walk around with a pouch or fanny pack filled with cocaine, GHB, ecstasy, marijuana gummies … and Tuci …” Wow.

Liam’s final autopsy and toxicology reports have not been shared publicly yet. Authorities are investigating his final moments to figure out exactly what happened, including looking into hotel employees who are suspected of supplying the musician with the drugs. We hope this serves as a warning to others to steer clear of this stuff!
