Liam Payne's funeral order of service unveiled his heart-wrenching final act of kindness

2 days ago 4

Liam Payne's funeral service on Wednesday 20 November revealed a touching final act of kindness from the star.

The order of service included a heartfelt request for attendees to make a donation to Great Ormond Street children's hospital, reflecting Liam's charitable spirit in his final weeks when he was known to have contributed to fundraisers for sick children.

The booklet read: "Thank you for attending the service and thank you for all the kind messages received. Liam would like you to make a donation. In memory of Liam we'd like you to consider Great Ormond Street Hospital, " alongside a link to the foundation's page.

Louis Tomlinson was spotted clutching the order of service, taking a moment to himself after bidding farewell to his friend and former One Direction bandmate.

It was announced last month that Liam tragically passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. An investigation into his death has been ongoing.

Argentine prosecutors have reportedly dismissed the speculation that he took his own life, stating in a recently released English-translated statement: "In the state he was in, he did not know what he was doing and could not understand it."

The funeral service wrapped up around 2pm on Wednesday, with mourners spotted outside the church in a poignant show of grief. Former One Direction members were seen comforting each other post-service, while Simon Cowell offered comfort to friends and family, according to the Mirror.

Earlier, fans had lined the streets to pay tribute to Liam, who had clearly left a significant impact. They also gathered around the church, holding pictures and flowers as they said their goodbyes to the star.

The service featured unique touches to honour Liam's memory, alongside traditional floral arrangements and candles. One such personal tribute was a flower arrangement depicting bowling pins being hit by a ball, made from fresh blooms.

While it may seem out of place on such a sombre day, the design affectionately nods to Liam's well-documented love for bowling. The singer celebrated his 31st birthday bowling with his family on 29th August, just weeks before his tragic passing in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Liam's ex Cheryl, mother to their seven year old son Bear, was also seen exiting the service, her face etched with sorrow after supporting her child on such a heart-wrenching day. Other celebrities present included James Corden, Rochelle and Marvin Humes, and Cheryl's Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.
