Liam Payne's sister, Ruth Gibbins, has shared a moving and emotional tribute to her brother following his tragic death at 31.
Payne, who rose to global fame as a member of One Direction, died after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina on October 16.
Gibbins took to Instagram on October 19 to express her grief and reflect on her cherished memories with her brother.
"I don't believe this is happening ... Liam is my best friend," Gibbins wrote, recalling how Payne's sense of humor always brought joy to those around him.
She also reflected on his journey from the moment he left home at 17 to chase his dreams on The X Factor, where his life changed forever.
Payne's love for One Direction and the deep bond he shared with his bandmates, whom he considered his "brothers," were central to his life, according to Gibbins.

In her heartfelt tribute, Gibbins opened up about Payne's internal battles, highlighting his constant struggle with self-worth.
"You never believed you were good enough," she wrote, expressing her hope that Payne could now see the love and support he might have missed during his lifetime.

Gibbins went on to thank Payne for the incredible memories they shared and promised to care for his 7-year-old son, Bear.
"He will always know how incredible his Dad is," she vowed. Gibbins ended her post with a tearful message, expressing her wish to bring him back, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you. Love you, oh how my heart misses you."
