Liam Payne’s family pay tribute after his death

TikTok trolls have sparked outrage by posting fake footage claiming to be from Liam Payne's funeral.

The former One Direction member, who died in October following a fall from a hotel room balcony in Argentina, is scheduled for burial this week.

However, TikTok users are sharing content from various funerals, falsely implying it's taken from Liam's service – prompting outraged fans to speak out.

Amongst the fabricated footage is one video featuring Prince William, and another showing what seems to be Latvian inscriptions on floral tributes. Fans have slammed the sensationalist content as 'disrespectful' and have condemned the TikTokers as "sick".

While specifics of Liam's funeral are not disclosed, admirers continue to leave offerings outside St. Peter's Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton in recent days, reports the Mirror.

The space near the Lady Wulfrun statue has been embellished with flowers and heartfelt messages.

Although the details remain confidential, there are beliefs that Liam's funeral is being planned in his hometown of Wolverhampton this week. His final farewell is reportedly to be at either St. Peter's or St. Paul's Church, Pendeford, the latter being nearer to where Liam grew up.

Upon learning about the heartbreaking event, Liam's father Geoff Payne flew out to Argentina and stayed until he was able to return with his son's remains. Devastated, the father arrived back at London Heathrow on Thursday morning, with supporters tracking his flight.

An insider divulged to Mail Online: "Liam will have a very big send-off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart. Liam was so loved by so many people, there will obviously be enormous demand and so the service will necessarily be a huge affair."

Despite fans' wishes to attend his funeral, they are being encouraged by others to honour the family's wish for privacy and refrain from attending. It is understood that the service will be private, allowing his loved ones to mourn their devastating loss in peace.

A popular TikTok video shows a fan imploring others with the message: "Your friendly reminder that if you're thinking of going to Liam Payne's funeral to look at One Direction members - don't!"

In the video's caption, they pleaded: "I'm begging you all to remember Liam Payne was a human and his family and friends are going through a hard enough time without having to cater to the public. They deserve to say goodbye to him with grace."

Although not invited to the service, it is anticipated that thousands of fans will gather along Wolverhamptons streets as the funeral procession makes its way through.
