Lil Baby seemingly alludes to Gunna on the deluxe edition of his latest album, WHAM.
The expanded version of the rapper’s new LP features the song “Running Shit,” which appears to diss Gunna, whom some perceive as a snitch for cutting a plea deal to be released from custody during Young Thug's YSL RICO case. “I don’t care what he did, he a rat still,” raps Lil Baby, before following up with “And I said what I said, don’t @ me.”
Lil Baby has made it clear that he has no intention of working with any artist he perceives as a rat. So, if you’re waiting for a new Lil Baby and Gunna collaboration anytime soon, you’re likely out of luck.
"I'm always gonna look at certain stuff a certain way," Lil Baby said during Lil Yachty's A Safe Place podcast recently. "It boils down to what we rapping about. We can't rap about that if you did that. If I was making Christmas music, then I don't give a damn what you did."
A few weeks before that, Lil Baby spoke with Charlamagne Tha God about his relationship with Gunna. "We ain't got no relationship,” said Baby. When asked if he’d work with Gunna again, he responded, "I don't see that happening."
Meanwhile, Gunna has denied snitching allegations stemming from his 2022 Alford plea in the YSL RICO case, maintaining his innocence while receiving a time-served sentence. Just days ago, his lawyer, Steve Sadow, shared a lengthy message on X to reiterate that his client did not snitch.
"Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case,” wrote Sadow. “Gunna’s plea could not and was not used at Thug’s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-yr suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.”
“THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF’ SAID,” continued Sadow.
