Lil Kim Erroneously “Prays For Monsoon” To Hit LA Amid Wildfires, Social Media Reacts

3 hours ago 1

Lil’ Kim is facing criticism after sharing a good-intentioned, but misinformed, social media post about the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday (Jan. 14), the Hip-Hop icon took to Instagram and X to express her sympathy for those affected. “#PrayForLA,” she began in an IG Story with a prayer emoji and breaking heart. “Been sending strong prayers up for LA and everyone affected by the fires.”

“This is heartbreaking. I pray to Jesus that God make it monsoon in LA.”

While her sentiment was heartfelt, her prayer for a monsoon raised eyebrows—as the natural disaster consists of heavy winds and torrential rain. Such an act of nature would only worsen the already-disastrous circumstances LA citizens are dealing with right now.

According to CNN, the fires have already placed 6,000,000 residents under fire threat and 17,000,000 people in California under a dust and ash advisory. The fires has already claimed 25 lives and destroyed approximately 12,000 buildings.

While many appreciated Kim’s prayers, others found it funny and some pointed out the unintended consequences of her suggested solution.

Lil Kim‘s rather humorous wish comes a few days after Fivio Foreign attempted to express his sentiments about the wildfires.

The “Big Drip” rapper took to Instagram with his thoughts on the world right now. “The World Demonique,” he wrote, severely misspelling, “demonic.”

Social media didn’t let him live, as people called out his grammar and others laughed it off. “Naming my future daughter Demonique,” one person wrote as another joked, “Ni**a Fivi really said ‘the world Demonique’ and meant that sh*t.”
