Lil Uzi Vert Welcomes Fans Back to World of 'Eternal Atake' With Sequel Announcement

Lil Uzi Vert is resetting their memory.

Seemingly out of nowhere on Wednesday, just as the latest teasings of impending new albums from Tyler and Ye were simultaneously making the rounds, our lonely little planet received word that the dream of Eternal Atake 2 is alive and well in the Uziverse. This confirmation came in multiple forms, including what’s assumed to be the final cover art for the album, a Gibson Hazard-directed short, and a presave campaign revealing the project will span 16 songs.

While Uzi didn’t mention a release date, Apple Music currently lists the Eternal Atake sequel as arriving on Nov. 1.

Gibson’s film continues the visual style at the heart of the original Eternal Atake, which arrived back in March 2020, ultimately providing some much-needed solace and a heightened escape experience at a time when we all needed it the most. At the top of the video, we’re given a reminder that Uzi “mysteriously vanished” that year, with said vanishing interpreted by “the faithful” to be “the fulfillment of a long-awaited prophecy.” As those well-versed in UFO-focused religions will note, this EA 2 messaging, much like its predecessor, takes playful inspiration from the Heaven’s Gate movement.

This inspiration continues with the imagery, as well as the return of a logo that also takes more than a few notes from the Heaven’s Gate aesthetic. Uzi, meanwhile, is seen being prepared for a “memory extraction” procedure, followed by a “deletion sequence” and a reset. Toward the end of the video, we see Uzi open their eyes, presumably fresh off a successful reset of their memory.

Prior to the announcement, a song titled “Uzi The Earthling! (TV Show Theme)” appeared. While Uzi hasn’t directed fans to the song, its surfacing on their official Spotify and YouTube pages was met with some theorizing of its own. As the title makes clear, the track, which lasts less than 30 seconds, is written as a TV theme song-style introduction to Uzi, “who’s known for his diamonds and his style” and is “making music that’ll make you smile.”

The Heaven’s Gate-nodding EA logo has since infiltrated Uzi’s entire streaming catalog, as seen below.

While we wait for more word from the desk of Uzi and company, fans in the Milwaukee area would do well to consider hitting up a Rock the Vote-presented free show in the city this weekend. Indeed, Uzi is headlining a daytime event billed as Milwaukeeland on Saturday, full details on which can be found here.
