Lil Yachty has responded to former Concrete Boys signee Karrahbooo after she accused him of using "a whole team of writers" on his 2023 psychedelic rock album Let's Start Here.
After Karrahbooo made the comments on an episode of DDG's No Ordinary Podcast, Yachty caught wind of what she said thanks to a post about it by DJ Akademiks on Instagram. In response, he jumped into the comments and wrote, "No one has ever wrote for me ever just for the record."
On the No Ordinary Podcast episode, which can be seen below, Karrahbooo spoke about Yachty's use of writers on Let's Start Here. "You know what's crazy? Boat used writers for Let's Start Here," she told DDG around the 35-minute point. "He had a whole team of writers. Like, what are you doing, bro?"
It's no secret that there are several credited writers on Let's Start Here, a stylistic pivot that saw him exploring more experimental, rock-oriented sounds. Some of the writers include Patrick Wimberly, Alex G, Teo Halm, and Tory Lanez. A good number of the writing credits come from contributing producers, vocalists, and the samples used, however.
Karrahbooo made her name as part of Yachty's Concrete Boys crew, but she left the group and label earlier this year. Shortly after Yachty confirmed the news, he went on a rant and alleged that she "verbally abused" people during here time with Concrete Boys. He also claimed that he was responsible for writing all of her music.
"I wrote every fucking verse you've done," Boat said. "I dressed you. I dressed all five of y'all n***as bro. I dressed five n***as every time we stepped out the house. I put an outfit on everybody. I put eight carats of earrings on everybody ear. I put three chains on all y'all neck." In response, she said that she wanted him to leave her alone.
