Hollywood actress Lily-Rose Depp has explained why she was left traumatised after watching her famous father Johnny play Edward Scissorhands when she was little

Actress Lily-Rose Depp has confessed she was left traumatised seeing her dad star as Edward Scissorhands.

The Nosferatu star, 25, didn’t mind seeing Hollywood icon Johnny Depp dress as the scissor fingered recluse in the 1990 flick.

But she admitted she was left upset at the way Edward was treated by the other characters in the iconic movie.

Lily, who is appearing on the cover of Bazaar UK’s February issue, said: “I was traumatised by it. Not because I thought he was scary, but because everyone was being so mean to him and I got really upset.”

The flick told the story of an unfinished artificial humanoid who has scissor blades instead of hands who is taken in by a suburban family and falls in love with their teenage daughter, played by Winona Ryder but cast out by locals.

The actress also told the magazine that like her father she is obsessed by the supernatural genre. She added: “We’re very different actors, but of course you’re the product of your environment, and it’s a world I’ve always been very interested in.”
