British singer and TV star Linda Nolan has died at the age of 65 after a two-decade battle with cancer.

Her agent Dermot McNamara revealed that Linda Nolan passed away on Tuesday, January 14, surrounded by her sisters, who were by her side at the time of her death from pneumonia.

"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record West End star, Sunday Times best-selling author and Daily Mirror columnist," read the statement shared by her agent Dermot McNamara.

"She passed away around 10:20am. The family said the hospital could do no more. They did their best to make it much more bearable," the statement continues, concluding: "She died peacefully, with her beloved siblings by her side, making sure she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda's legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, and shared her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. We will miss you deeply, but we will never forget you."

Linda Nolan's battle with cancer

In the newspaper The Mirror they recalled that Linda Nolan suffered secondary breast cancer that was detected in 2005, was discharged in 2011 and six years later was informed that the disease had returned and eventually spread to the brain

The secondary breast cancer diagnosis came after she was found to have tumours in the bone of her hip and pelvis

During her holiday, Linda Nolan was ill, but last week she said she was feeling better, but then she was admitted to hospital with breathing problems and was diagnosed with pneumonia, which due to her condition from secondary breast cancer, her condition worsened and she died at the age of 65.

The Mirror reported that Linda Nolan's family plans to organize a public tribute, but no further details have yet been revealed.
