LinkedIn’s adding another way to get more out of your lead generation efforts, with lead gen now available as an objective for boosted posts.
As you can see in this example, now, when you boost a post from your LinkedIn feed, you’ll be able to select “Lead Generation” as the goal. Up till this point, only reach and engagement have been available as objectives for LinkedIn’s quick boost option.
The simplified ad setup will enable you to set your budget and targeting options, then add a lead form template that’ll be attached to the campaign.
The option will provide another way to build your own contact list, while also gathering insight into your audience.
As per LinkedIn:
“LinkedIn members interact with company Pages over two billion times per month, gaining professional insights and staying informed about industry trends. With the introduction of post boosting for Lead Generation, you can turn your content into ads, using first-party data to capture high-quality leads, extending your reach beyond your existing LinkedIn Page followers.”
It could be a handy addition to your LinkedIn ads approach, providing another way to maximize the reach of your best performing updates, and use them for data gathering.
It is worth noting, however, that boosting posts is designed to be a more lightweight option, and as such, it doesn’t provide the same depth of targeting options that you can get in LinkedIn’s Campaign Manager. If you want to ensure you’re covering all your bases, you need to run a full campaign in the app.
Either way, it’s another consideration for your LinkedIn marketing approach.
LinkedIn says that boosting for Lead Generation is now available globally in all languages on mobile and desktop.
