Thanksgiving is finally here, meaning one of America's greatest traditions is back: The Detroit Lions playing football.
This year, the Lions are taking on the Chicago Bears in a crucial divisional matchup. The Lions have a 37-45-2 all-time record on Thanksgiving, and are 6-18 since 2000. Their last win came in 2016, when they beat the Minnesota Vikings, 16-13.

This is a much different Lions team, though, as they enter Thanksgiving at 10-1 and arguably the best team in the NFL. The Lions haven't lost since Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and will look to get a massive win to stay atop the NFC North. The Lions currently have a one-game lead over the 9-2 Minnesota Vikings in the division, and a two-game lead over the 8-3 Green Bay Packers, who played in the Thanksgiving finale on Thursday night.

On the flip side, the Bears have looked much better since firing offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. However, they've lost their last two matchups by a combined four points against the Vikings and Packers, and are looking like they'll miss the playoffs again unless they have a miraculous turnaround.
Will the Lions move to 11-1 on the year and finally win on Thanksgiving, or will the Bears get the massive upset with all of America watching? The staff at Newsweek Sports has their predictions.
Noah Camras: The Lions have been firing on all cylinders this season, and are big favorites over their division rival. However, the Bears have played much better since firing their offensive coordinator, and will keep this Thanksgiving game interesting. In the end, though, the high-powered Lions offense will be too much for Chicago, and Detroit fans will finally be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner as a winner.
Prediction: Lions 31, Bears 26
Matt Levine: The Lions have looked like the best team in the NFL in recent weeks and playing on Thanksgiving won't change that fact. They get a fun matchup in the Bears, but the Lions will take care of business at home. Detroit grabs the big win to open the holiday slate of games.
Prediction: Lions 38, Bears 17
Ricardo Sandoval: The Bears have yet to win a road game this season, and the Lions are arguably the best team in the NFL. The Lions will win this one, but don't be surprised if their division rivals keep it close.
Prediction: Lions 33, Bears 24
