When Prince William showed off his new beard back in August, royal fans were taken aback. After all, the royals are known for their posh, proper and consistent looks, so a new scruffy beard was far from expected. But, despite all the royal protocol against it, the heir to the throne looked ultra-confident in the beard, which made its debut in his video to support Team GB following the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

And, most recently, his wife Kate Middleton seemingly showed her very own stamp of approval over his new look. According to lip-reader Nicola Hickling for The Sun, Middleton made a cheeky comment about her hubby to Duchess of Edinburgh Sophie at the Service Of Remembrance At The Cenotaph this past weekend.

Earlier this year, Bebe King (6), Elsie Dot Stancombe (7) and Alice da Silva Aguiar (9) died after a mass stabbing at a children's Taylor Swift-themed dance class on July 29 in the Merseyside town of Southport.

While they looked down to the ceremony from a balcony in their matching black looks, Middleton reportedly said, “What, you like a beard? I find it quite rousing.”

In return, Sophie reportedly responded with, “You’re all better now” as the two chuckled. As a reminder, Middleton announced she finished her chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified form of cancer in September.

According to another lipreader, Kayleigh Harris, Middleton’s comments weren’t as NSFW as Hickling believes. Per Harris, Middleton gave some feedback on the beard instead by saying it “never quite rounded.”

Regardless of what Middleton may have said about the beard, it’s safe to say seeing her chit-chatting about her hubby’s new look is quite adorable.

Luckily, sources say William’s all about it too. “William really loves how he looks with a beard, he always has,” an insider told OK! Magazine. “He’d have been wearing one for years now if it weren’t for royal protocol. It might sound silly, but [Prince] Harry wasn’t lying in his memoir when he wrote that he and William fought about his wedding day beard.” As a reminder, William reportedly fought with Harry on his brother’s wedding day because he was permitted to keep his beard on his big day while William was always prohibited.

Now, however, it seems William’s finally breaking out of the royal mold when it comes to his looks. And, regardless of which lipreader is right, Middleton seems to be loving it!
