When Lisa Jordan walked into her dream home, it had been left abandoned for years — holes were in the ceiling and it had started to fall into a derelict state. However, the fashion and beauty entrepreneur could see past the neglect and immediately felt a sense of family.
“We bought this home with our hearts more so than anything else,” explains Lisa as she tries to describe that indescribable feeling of ‘home’ — something she had been searching for since she moved out of her beloved family house built by her mother and late father.
“I loved my family home so much and I was always in awe of my dad for building it, and for my parents for creating such a lovely place to live in. This home is really about family, I wanted it for my children and I wanted it for us.”

In the brand new issue of RSVP Home, Lisa opens up her stunning new house for the first time, and shares her love of interior design and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
In the magazine, which is out today (Tuesday 22nd October) Lisa explains that she was viewing another house in the area when she spotted her dream home. The only catch? It wasn’t actually for sale. Lisa didn’t let that minor detail get in the way, and three years the home was hers.
“I was initially looking at another house for sale in the area and I spotted this one from across the road and I just fell in love. I was speaking to my auctioneer at the time and I found out nobody was living in it, but it was owned by someone and they weren’t going to sell it. My auctioneer was like, ‘You’ll never get that one’.
“When I heard those words, that was it. I persevered for three years and eventually landed my dream home. I was manifesting that dream and visualising myself in it”.
