Lisa Snowdon shares true feelings on George Clooney after five-year relationship

TV presenter Lisa Snowdon has spoken candidly about her five-year relationship with acting superstar George Clooney.

Speaking about her time with the star between 2000 and 2005, Lisa said that the legendary Hollywood actor was not “one of the very evil” people who she had dated.

Lisa, 53, told The i that she had been “in a cycle of attracting narcissistic characters, the wrong people” and that she had ended up “disappointed, hurt, and just used”.

Following this comment, she alluded to but did not name a “high profile person” who she dated for five years, however the person in question was considered to be the 63-year-old Clooney.

This isn’t the first time Lisa has spoken about her time with the Ocean’s 11 and Batman star. She went into detail about how she and Clooney met to The Sunday Times.

Snowdon and Clooney reportedly met while they were working on the set of an advert for Martini, hitting it off before they began dating.

However, Snowdon told the publication there was more to their early days than just an advert. She said: “I met George Clooney on a TV commercial in Barcelona, but we also spent a lot of time in Los Angeles.

“I was back and forth to LA for photoshoots and the BBC show LA Pool Party. We once stayed in a great apartment in Santa Monica looking on to the beach. I also got an apartment in Venice.

“George was charming, a really nice man, good fun and we had a great time. It was quite wild. Sometimes I think it will be written on my tombstone — ‘George Clooney once dated Lisa Snowdon’.”

While Snowdon has spoken fondly about her five-year relationship with Clooney, she would later find love with current partner George Smart. The pair have been engaged since 2017 after meeting in 2014.

However, the presenter has admitted to having reservations about marrying a man she met whilst working at MTV. She told The Mirror: “Deep down, I do know it wouldn’t but then I think, ‘Well my mum and dad’s marriage didn’t last’.

“Some people say, ‘Don’t do it because it changes things. So there’s 90 per cent of me that knows nothing would change, but a tiny hint of reservation where I think it would.”

Despite this, Lisa has said she is excited to be able to call George “my husband” rather than “my fiancé”.
