LisaRaye McCoy claims she almost fought Nicole Murphy over an alleged affair with her ex-husband, Michael Misick, the former Premier of Turks and Caicos.
The Players Club actress sat down with reality TV producer Carlos King and shared how she and Murphy went from friends to foes. “I had checked the manifest of my plane because we owned a plane […] She didn’t ride on it with me and nor did she receive an invitation from me. If you have a girlfriend that has her own island, I would think that you would call and say, ‘Hey girl, I’m coming’ because I was getting everybody to come,” McCoy reflected.
She questioned why Murphy would accept an invitation from Misick instead of her when she “didn’t even know him.” Murphy initially denied that she’d been to Turks and Caicos and then allegedly stopped answering McCoy’s calls.
So, the Chicago native called Murphy’s then-partner, Michael Strahan, and shared a tape of Murphy with Misick, dropping him off at the private airport. There was more on the tape, but McCoy quipped, “That part is my business […] which I would never speak on.”
McCoy admitted that her late mother “warned” her about Murphy. “She said, ‘You gotta watch that one there.’ I was like who? That’s Eddie Murphy’s wife. I was like ‘nah.’ And you know when your mom tells you something about new school, you feel like you’re old school and she was right,” said the 57-year-old.
Of the fight that never happened, the former First Lady of Turks and Caicos shared, “I had too many other things going on, but I can’t say I didn’t try to get her.”
McCoy added, “I had to let her know that I am not the one—or the two. ‘Cause I’m not. I am not.” Da Brat, McCoy’s sister, confirmed Murphy and Misick’s affair back in 2019.
