Louis Tomlinson shares huge update as he breaks silence after Liam Payne's funeral

Louis Tomlinson has broken his social media silence to tease some positive news after he said a final goodbye to his friend and former bandmate Liam Payne last week.

The former One Direction star, 32, took to his Instagram stories on Friday to tease new music as she shared a photo of his makeshift guitar capo which he made from a bright yellow pen. It looks like Louis is busy writing lyrics and making melodies for new music to come as he appeared busy at work and in the zone. Alongside the photo of his DIY efforts, he simply wrote: "DIY".

It comes after Louis said that he and Liam Payne had plans to release new music together when he paid a heartbreaking tribute to former One Direction bandmate following his death last month.

Louis took to Instagram to share a lengthy post a day after the star fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Argentina - and he had news that would have sent all 1D fans wild if it had came to fruition. Louis claimed the pair had often spoke of making music together and hoped to recreate their chemistry from their days together in a band. Sadly, that will never happen now.

The touching tribute saw Louis call Liam one of his best friends and the "most vital part of One Direction". Alongside a photo of the pair embracing and smiling, Louis wrote: "Liam was an incredible songwriter with a great sense of melody, we often spoke of getting back in the studio together to try and recreate the writing chemistry we had built up in the band.

"And for the record, Liam was in my opinion the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on. Thank you for shaping us Liam."

He went on to send a message to Liam, saying he felt "beyond lucky" to have had him in his life. He admitted the pair's bond had grown stronger since the band and said they would spend hours speaking to each other on the phone about their memories. In a heartbreaking comment, Louis said he thought that would be a "luxury" he would have had for his whole life.

"I would have loved to share the stage with you again but it wasn’t to be," he continued before saying he wishes he could have said a proper goodbye and tell him he loved him.

Louis also made a promise in regard to Liam's son, Bear, with whom he shares with Cheryl. Louis penned: "I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was."

Last week, Liam was laid to rest in Bucks, one month after his tragic death in Argentina. The One Direction singer's friends and family came together to grieve the 31-year-old after he fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.

Mourners watched as the singer's coffin arrived at the church by horse-drawn hearse while the public lined the streets. Among those attending the funeral included Liam's former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis and other celebrity friends.

Cheryl also attended the funeral to say a final goodbye to their son Bear's dad as she was pictured with his family. Liam's mum Karen and dad Geoff arrived at the church and were greeted by the reverend at the entrance. Their son's coffin, with white roses laid on top, was carried inside by pall bearers to join mourners.
