Ekin-Su has work to do on this year's Love Island All Stars series if she wants to restore her reputation.
The 30-year-old reality star was revealed as the first bombshell of this year's All Stars series, entering the villa on Monday night (January 13). She went on dates with Scott, Curtis and Ronnie before stealing Curtis from Kaz - and sharing a steamy snog with him on the terrace.
Ekin became a fan-favourite during her first villa stint in 2022, which she won with ex Davide Sanclimenti. She created some iconic moments, such as when she crawled around on the terrace to snatch a secret kiss with Jay.
And viewers grew to love her rocky relationship with the Italian hunk. Who could forget the infamous row when Davide found out about the kiss with Jay, when he told her: "You're a liar, actress, go the f*** out." . Sadly, the pair endured a bitter split in January of last year.
But unfortunately, Ekin ended up going from hero to zero after the series, especially during her controversial stint on Celebrity Big Brother (CBB), where she tried to distance herself from Love Island, clashed with her housemates and took aim at women making money from adult subscription sites.
The star has now been advised to show she's 'grown' and 'changed' if she wants to win back the support of the public. A PR expert says Ekin's All Stars stint could be the "perfect" way to "revamp" her career if she does it right.
Speaking on behalf of Betfred Lotto, Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius said: “Ekin-Su will need to tread carefully if she wants to turn around her reputation and make her All Stars appearance a success, both personally and professionally. This marks her first major move since her controversial stint on Celebrity Big Brother early last year, so it’s not surprising she’s decided to return to familiar ground where she previously thrived.
“By rejoining Love Island on All Stars, she’s reconnecting with her core audience—the very group she’ll need on her side to support her comeback. The PR buff admits Ekin's past comments about Love Island will haunt her.
She continues: "Her past remarks about wanting to distance herself from the franchise now seem hypocritical and are likely going to shadow her for years to come. However, that said, I do believe enough time has now passed for her to begin making amends and re-establishing herself.
"As long as Ekin-Su can demonstrate growth, accountability, and a genuine change in her actions, while still delivering the charm and personality fans loved back in 2022, I think this could be the perfect opportunity for her to revamp her career.”
The Turkish actress got irritated when her CBB housemates asked about her time on Love Island, and she was clearly trying to distance herself from the show. When co-star Zeze Millz asked about the villa, Ekin was quick to shut down the conversation.
Millz had described the show as a "free holiday" to which Ekin-Su replied: "Yeah well it wasn't really for me. It's a reality show filmed 24/7 honey you only see 40minutes of it."
When Corrie star Colson Smith asked if the CBB nomination process was similar to that of Love Island, Ekin fumed: "This is not Love Island, this is not the same". When Colson tried again, she snapped: "It’s not the same, please just let it go."
She also slammed women making money on adult subscription sites, saying: "I’d rather have zero pounds than a million pounds doing it the wrong way, but have pride".
Ekin's CBB drama didn't end when she exited the house, because she failed to turn up to the final. In a statement to fans, she revealed she'd had to remove herself from a "potentially uncomfortable situation".
