Scott Thomas is heading back into the villa for the latest series of Love Island.

Cheeky chap Scott, 36, is hoping to find love once again after he was confirmed to be taking part in the new series of the ITV2 titan. It comes following his stunted TV career in the wake of his stint on the second season of the show in 2016.

But Scott is hoping he can do one better than his two brothers, all of whom have competed in reality TV shows or competitions on a number of different occasions. The trio have had a laugh together, with the brothers getting into a bit of healthy competition to see who can do best.

So, as Scott gears up for his second stint on Love Island, Daily Star looks at his famous family - and what they are up to now.

Soap star brothers

Scott is one of two twins who broke into showbiz at a young age, the other twin being Adam. He managed to break into the soap business early on, landing roles in the likes of Waterloo Road and Emmerdale, projects he is still involved with to this day; as well as stints on I'm A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing.

However, older brother Ryan is also a showbiz superstar, having won the hearts of the nation as Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street. He also has conquered other huge reality competitions - including Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother, where he was at the centre of a controversial run-in with fellow soap star Roxanne Pallet.

The brothers have managed to develop an amazing bond, which has even seen the trio head to India for an ITV travel documentary series that reconnected them with their father's heritage. Scott, Ryan and Adam have since gone on to pursue their own careers even further, with two bros supporting the third as they go off and become even bigger stars.

Girl power

On top of the boys, the women in Scott's family are also having their own brushes with fame. This includes niece Scarlett, as well as Lucy Mecklenburgh - who is soon set to be Scott's beloved sister-in-law.

Scarlett Thomas is best known for her role as Izzi Charles in hit BBC drama Waterloo Road, which she stars in with uncle Adam. Despite being aged just 16, Izzi has already scored herself a huge role on the BBC show, starring in the revived programme for 19 episodes so far.

She also comes from acting royalty, as she is the daughter of Scott's brother Ryan and Tina O'Brien, who plays the role of Sarah Platt on ITV soap Coronation Street. Similarly, Ryan has also brought reality TV royalty into the family, as he is currently engaged to former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh - the pair now share two doting children together.

Well-known parents

However, it not just Scott's siblings who have been getting in on the fame and fortune, as dad Dougie James was the first in the family to have a shot of glory in the public eye. Dougie is best known for his career in singing, with his career first taking off in the 1960s and 1970s.

During the decades, Dougie was the frontman of a funk band named Dougie James and the Soul Train, which came to dominate the charts during the peak of the disco era. At the height of their career, the band would go on to open for the Jackson Five at the legendary Manchester Apollo theatre in 1979.

After his heyday, Dougie settled down in his native Manchester and sired his three children. Dougie would tragically pass away in November of 2020, at the age of 72 - leaving the rest of the Thomas family devastated.

In recent times, Scott and his family are continuing to show off their everyday lives, thanks to a TikTok account that features the entire Thomas family. The clan often gets together to share updates with what is going on in their lives as well as doing silly challenges either individually or as a family.

Speaking about his family, Scott explained in an interview in November 2023 that the rivalries between him and his brothers continues to this very day. However, he added there is no animosity - which allows the trio to have a laugh as they make content together.

"I would say I'm the most competitive - against Ryan, more so; we used to call Adam "The Fence", cause Adam just sits in the middle," he explained. "We're always quite competitive, but in a good way - we support each other as well."
