‘Love It or List It’ Renewed With a Hilary Farr Replacement

Well, it looks like homeowners and HGTV viewers may be able to love it again after all.

Love It Or List It has been renewed at the network more than a year after its future was cast in doubt over the departure of original cast member Hilary Farr. She will be replaced by existing HGTV talent Page Turner, who joins returning co-star David Visentin.

Now, if you aren’t familiar with the format of Love It Or List It, you probably aren’t reading this. But if you’ve just got a lot of time on your hands or simply want a refresher, it goes a little something like this: A couple, slightly less dysfunctional than those seen on House Hunters, are usually at odds over whether or not to stay in their current home or move on. Enter a designer (Turner, formerly Farr) tasked with renovating the home in hopes of suiting their needs and a realtor (Visentin) who shows comparable houses to win over the party more intent on staying put. There are a few listings to choose from and, in the end, a reveal of the renovated home they already own. The couple then choose to stay (Love it!) or move (List it!).

Love It Or List It first premiered in 2008 and, prior to Farr’s exit, taped a wild 258 episodes. It thrived on the sparring between Visentin and Farr — at times playful and at others a little exhilarating. But Farr, who also has Tough Love With Hilary Farr at the network, formally departed in December 2023. At the time, she told Vulture she was leaving the show because she was “bored” with the gig and found it “stale” and “formulaic.”

Turner is fresh blood for the production, which has historically filmed in Canada with the occasional stateside season. She first appeared in Flip or Flop Nashville before going on to appear in Fix My Flip. A licensed real estate broker in three states, she may throw Visentin for a bit of a loop.

“HGTV fans first came to love Page Turner on Flip or Flop Nashville and Fix My Flip and were introduced to her competitive side in two seasons of Rock the Block,” said Loren Ruch, HGTV head of content. “Her extensive background in real estate and design will be a superpower as she enters into this celebrated real estate rivalry. We cannot wait to watch her give David a run for his money.”

The new season of Love It or List It, which consists of eight hour-long episodes, is set to premiere in Summer 2025. If you believe Reddit — sorry, life is too short for me to check the actual stats — it historically tells us that slightly more show participants have chosen to keep their home after the renovation. Let’s see if Turner can maintain Farr’s “Love It” track record.
