Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas, known by her stage name Dulce, passed away on Christmas Day. Her close friend and fellow artist Lucía Méndez shared a moving tribute on social media, reminiscing about their close bond and the ups and downs they experienced through the years.
Méndez shared a message on X, opting to delete the first part shortly after it was published. "My heart is full of sadness. Today, a dear friend has left us, a soul sister with whom I shared unforgettable moments, a partner of adventures and laughter," she wrote in Spanish.
"Our friendship always remained in my heart and I know I was in her too," she wrote and later deleted.
"While her body is no longer with us, her spirit and her memory will forever live on in me, in her loved ones, and in the public that supported her through the end."
"Rest in peace, we'll miss you always, I know one day we'll meet again. Your music and great voice will live forever in our hearts."
Lucia and Dulce's complicated relationship
Lucia and Dulce were friends for over 40 years, with their relationship experiencing plenty of ups and downs, as is the case with the people we've known for large portions of our lives.
Their conflict began when they starred in the second season of the reality series "Siempre Reinas," where there were some tense moments recorded between them, including a phone call between Dulce and a friend. The moment was captured on camera and showed her speaking ill of Lucia.
While Dulce denied it all, their friendship was tarnished. "It wasn't a friendship, I'm not crying about it. I don't miss her. The friendship is over. We were close, now we're not," she said to a local tabloid.
Dulce's death was confirmed by her sister, who shared a post on Facebook on December 25th.
