“Bling Empire: New York” star Lynn Ban has died weeks after undergoing emergency brain surgery following a skiing accident on Christmas Eve. She was 51.

On Wednesday, Ban’s son, Sebastian Ban, confirmed she died Monday in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

“My mum passed away on Monday. I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her,” he wrote alongside photos of him and his mother.

“Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person,” he continued. “I would like to take the chance to share who my mum really was. She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all.”

Calling his mom a “fighter” and the “strongest woman I know,” Sebastian shared that she “always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery.”

He then said that “she may be gone now,” but he plans to do “everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten.”

Wrapping up his message, Sebastian Ban added, “As a final message to my mum, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end [with] something she always told me ‘I love you more than life itself’ mum.”

HuffPost has reached out to Netflix for comment.

In the comments section of the post, fans of Lynn Ban and fellow celebrities outpoured support in the wake of her death.

“Lynn will always be our fairy godmother! Love you forever and always! Can’t believe I’m writing this in a comments section right now. Thank you for all the joy you brought to us,” pop star Rihanna wrote.

“My deepest condolences to you & your family, your mom looks at you with so much love, pride & joy. May her soul rest in peace knowing how loved she is by you too,” singer Kali Uchis said.

Back in December, Ban revealed that she suffered a near-fatal brain bleed following a ski accident in Aspen, Colorado, on Christmas Eve.

“And in a blink of an eye … life can change. Christmas Eve on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen on vacation with my family, I had a ski accident that would change my life,” she said in an Instagram post. “At the top of the mountain I caught a tip and face planted. Luckily I always wear a helmet.”

Ban said at the time her injury “didn’t seem that bad” since she was “able to ski to the bottom” of the slopes. She said she was then “checked out by a ski patrol for a concussion” and subsequently “cleared.”

“I had a bit of a headache but thought after lunch it would be fine and I could ski again,” she continued. “The paramedic suggested I go to the hospital for a cat scan.”

Ban shared that the paramedic’s suggestion “saved my life,” before noting that her husband, Jett Kain, transported her to a hospital where doctors discovered “within 30 minutes” that she had “a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital.”

Ban concluded her post by saying she had a “long road of recovery ahead.”
