Lynn Ban, the star of reality TV show 'Bling Empire: New York', has died on January 22 at the age of 52; following complications due to needing brain surgery after a skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado on December 24.
The incident on Christmas Eve left the personality and actress bed-bound in hospital after she revealed she fell near the top of the mountain and hit her head, but managed to return to the base.
The jewellery designer, who burst onto the television scene in 2023, said she headed to medical professionals after developing a headache. They identified a brain bleed and rushed her to the trauma unit.
She underwent an emergency craniotomy procedure and said she only remembers waking up after the surgery but was optimistic of her chances of recovery and also for the rest of the 2025 year.
"My mum passed away on Monday," Sebastian, her son, said via her Instagram, with a moving recollection of family photos. "I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her.
"Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person. I would like to take the chance to share who my mum really was. She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all.
"She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know. She was the funniest and coolest mum I could ever ask for.
Sebastian vows to honor her legacy
It's unclear exactly what is the cause of death for Lynn Ban, although it likely relates to complications from the surgery which had left the celebrity with a large scar on her half-shaven head.
