Man's 'Precious' Gesture When Left Alone With Ex-Wife's New Baby Delights

A woman has melted hearts online by sharing the precious moment she captured between her ex-husband and her new baby.

TikTok user Megan (@minimeyer2.0) shared an adorable video of her ex-husband playing with her baby boy and making him laugh. The caption layered over the sweet footage explains that Megan shares the baby with her fiancé, but that doesn't stop her ex-husband from loving him too.

The new mom was returning downstairs after putting her daughter to bed when she caught sight of "this precious moment." She couldn't resist sharing it online in December, and the video has gone viral. At the time of writing, the TikTok video has already gained more than 5.3 million views and 533,100 likes.

Newsweek has contacted Megan via TikTok for comment.

The heartfelt moment has certainly delighted social media users, and many people have praised the maturity and the undeniable love on display in the clip.

However, some internet users were curious as to why Megan's ex-husband was in the house at all. For that reason, she shared a follow-up post on TikTok explaining their living situation. Her ex-husband lives with Megan and her fiancé, as she also shares a daughter with her ex. They live together for financial and personal reasons, and she hopes to show people that "co-parenting doesn't always have to be messy."

Staying friends with an ex is something that the majority of people wish they could do. A poll by YouGov showed that among all Americans, 37 percent said they'd like to remain friends if they broke up with their partner. Contrastingly, 29 percent reported that they wouldn't wish to stay friends in that instance.

But perhaps it isn't as easy as it sounds, as the figures show that just 17 percent of people are still friends with all of their exes. While 37 percent are friends with one of their former partners, but not all of them. The vast majority, 44 percent, are reportedly not amicable with any of their exes.

There appears to be a divide between how Americans feel about their partners being friends with an ex, however. The YouGov survey suggests that 41 percent don't mind their partner being friends with someone they used to date, while 40 percent are uncomfortable with the idea. Although, 57 percent said they would be fine with their partner being on good terms with their ex.

Social Media Reaction

Since the video went viral on TikTok, it has gained more than 4,200 comments.

One TikTok user wrote: "when the fiancé looked and laughed and kept doing what he's doing, it's so much maturity in that room."

Another person added: "This is exactly how it should be."

While another comment reads: "Wow so much respect! That's what it should be like!"
