Recent headlines about Marcus Jordan have focused on his love life, but the conversation has now shifted to legal matters. The 34-year-old former hooper, and son of the legendary Michael Jordan, was arrested this week.
On Monday (Feb. 3), Jordan was taken into custody for drug possession, DUI, and resisting arrest, according to TMZ. Specifically, he was reported to have cocaine in his possession, which sheds some light on a situation from August 2024. A video of him seemingly sniffing a white substance while at lunch in the south of France went viral and social media erupted. People were either joking about it being a non-story due to his little accomplishments or comparing the situation to what reactions would be if this was Bronny James, son of LeBron James.
Larsa Pippen, his ex-girlfriend who was previously married to Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, claimed that he lied about his drug use while they were involved in their controversial relationship. “She can’t waste her energy on anyone who takes drugs,” a source told Marca on her behalf. “He’s been hiding this lifestyle for a while and used to lie to her about it every day.” They also cited his “non-stop partying” as the reason their relationship came to an end, an activity that Jordan was open about during his college days at the University of Central Florida.
With all of this context in mind, Marcus Jordan’s alleged drug use may still be ongoing, but now it’s caused him issues beyond a failed relationship. He is currently behind bars in the Orange County Jail in Central Florida. The UCF graduate posed for a mugshot, which can be seen in the video above. Currently, specific details of the arrest are unknown.
The former hooper is Michael Jordan’s second of three children that the NBA legend had with Juanita Vanoy. He also has two twin half-sisters via his father’s second wife.
