Mario Releases ‘Glad You Came,’ His First Full-Length Album In 6 Years And New Video

1 week ago 4

Mario, one of the most championed voices in R&B, has returned after six years with his sixth studio album Glad You Came. The long-awaited LP, executively produced by the legendary James Fauntleroy, helms 13-tracks including the lead single “Space,” and his newest release “Keep Going (Aaaaahhhhh).”

Glad You Came marks Mario’s first full-length album since 2018’s Dancing Shadows under his imprint, New Citizen, in partnership with Epic Records. Dubbing the fresh album “a new era” of his artistry, Mario says its an “upgraded version of all the things that make me who I am.”

To further bring all of the album’s magic to life, Mario has not only dropped Glad You Came today (Dec. 13) but also released an accompanying video for “Keep Going.” In the James Bahman and self-directed video—which cameos actress Parker McKenna—Mario and McKenna get close as he croons heartfelt lyrics about the thing’s he’ll do to keep his lady yearning for more.

Speaking of creating the LP with Fauntleroy, Mario stated, “James and I have a similar philosophy when it comes to the love of timeless music. The omnipresence of all of the things that lends itself to the writing process. Our stories, our lives, what we observe and absorb.”

On the album, Mario has no features, allowing listeners to truly get lost in the serenading of his voice.

In promotion of Glad You Came, Mario will be hitting 12 cities in April and May 2025, along with Eric Bellinger. Additionally, Mario will kick off the top of the year with Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo for the 36-date For My Fans Tour.
