Mark Zuckerberg revealed how he brutally told his daughter that she can't be like Taylor Swift after watching her perform at a concert as he encouraged her to begin to establish her own identity.
The Facebook founder is father to August Chan Zuckerberg, who is his second child and was born in 2017. So naturally impressionable, it's no surprise that she enjoys the 34-year-old popstar's music.
But her admiration went so far that she even began to want to replicate and emulate the singer, only for the Meta CEO to tell her it's simply not an option for the youngster, born into a family worth $196.9 billion in net worth.
"One day, my daughter. We took her to a Taylor Swift concert and she was like, 'You know Dad, I kind of want to be like Taylor Swift when I grow up,'" Zuckerberg told Acquired. "I was like, 'But you can't. That's not available to you.'
"And she thought about it and she's like, 'Alright when I grow up I want people to want to be like August Chan Zuckerberg.' And I was like, 'Hell yeah. Hell yeah.'"
The pair had headed to the Eras Tour in Santa Clara in July 2023 along with their mother and their two daughters old enough to attend, as the 40-year-old tech giant wore a pink t-shirt with gemstones on his face.
He later put on some friendship bracelets and took a photo of his family enjoying the show, in a post that earned over 440,000 likes on Instagram, which he also owns, as he added the caption, "Life of a girl dad."

Mark Zuckerberg began dating Priscilla Chan all the way back in 2003 after the pair met at a frat party, before they moved in together in 2010 and got married in 2012 in an event that also celebrated her graduation from the University of California.
The pair have three children together, with the oldest, named Maxima, born in December 2015, followed by August in August 2017 and finally a third daughter in March 2023 who is called Aurelia.
