Martha Stewart is growing her family. The 84 cultural and television icon has shared an exciting update on her social media, sharing an adorable photo and caption.
Stewart shared a post with her 2.5 million followers, revealing that she'd adopted a four-year-old Persian cat named Magnolia.
The post shows her cat looking straight at the camera. It's grey with yellow eyes and has instantly acquired an overnight rabid fanbase.
"Meet Magnolia, a beautiful four-year-old silver-shaded Persian cat and the newest member of my family," wrote Stewart.
Stewart revealed that she made the adoption through Rock n Rescue, a non-profit based in New York. She advised for people to do the same, housing pets that need it over purchasing ones that are bred.
She described Persian cats as "laid-back, charming, and affectionate," sharing that Magnolia shares all of those traits, claiming that her cat "loves people and greets all those she sees."
Magnolia's growing pains when entering her new home
In a blog post, Stewart shared more of the story of Magnolia's adoption, revealing that while the cat is sweet and adorable, she's growing used to her new surroundings.
"Right now, Magnolia is still going through a transitional phase – getting to know me and all the activity around my home, but she’s doing extremely well and will be a wonderful addition to my menagerie and my family," wrote Stewart, sharing various adorable photos of her pet.
"Welcome home, Magnolia."
Stewart revealed that Magnolia has a big appetite and enjoys drinking fresh water, signs that her pet is healthy and adapting well to her new environment. "Magnolia is also quite curious – roaming from room to room, upstairs and downstairs," revealed Stewart.
Magnolia was originally named Angel and lived in New York, where she had to be rescued after her owners passed away.
