Marvel Rivals players don’t agree that Rocket Raccoon has “most useless” ultimate

Several Marvel Rivals streamers have criticized Rocket Raccoon for being an overrated hero who doesn’t add value to teams, but players pushed back on that claim and offered a counterargument.

As part of the Season 1.5 update, NetEase acknowledged that teams using three support heroes became an issue because their ultimate abilities stalled matches by healing teammates and keeping them alive.

So, in response, the ultimate cost was increased for Cloak and Dagger, Luna Sow, Loki, Mantis, and Invisible Woman, making it more difficult for teams to chain those ultimates and block most incoming damage to slow down the pace of a match.

Even though Rocket Raccoon avoided any nerfs, the hero still has its fair share of detractors, but players don’t understand why.

Rocket Raccoon’s ultimate, C.Y.A., boosts ally damage by 40% within a 20-meter radius. While helpful, some streamers don’t see it that way.

Marvel Rivals streamer Necros claimed, “That’s why Raccoon is bad. You are stealing ult charge away from what would be potentially good ults to f**king use Amplifier, the most useless ult ever.”

“Amplifier maybe isn’t bad if you sync it up with another ult, but it’s so useless on its own,” Necros continued.

Necros received some pushback in the comment section.

“I can think of several matches where I won points because of the amplifier,” one player claimed. “I don’t know what bro is talking about.”

“Rocket’s ult can literally help wipe an entire team very quickly,” a second user added.

It doesn’t help Necros’ case that NetEase revealed win rates for every hero at the start of Season 1.5, and Rocket Raccoon has the third-best win rate at 55.14%.
