McDonald's fans in fury over Grinch Happy Meal update as they say 'we need this'

The McDonald's Grinch Happy Meal is available across the UK until December 31, but it's not available in the US. From 11am, youngsters from Scotland all the way down to Plymouth are able to grab their hands on a Grinch Happy Meal, which includes Grinch plushies and games.

The limited edition Happy Meal box will come with one of eight Grinch and friends toys. There could be plush Grinch Christmas decorations, Grinch family card games, or the exclusive Twelve Days of Grinchmas tale.

But it's not just children who are seeking out the Grinch Happy Meal with one 30-year-old posting her most recent purchase on TikTok.

"Yes, I'm 30 years old and I bought a Happy Meal so I could get a Grinch toy and I'm not even sorry," Olivia Grace posted.

However one family were really shown the mean spirit of the Grinch when their McDonald's order had a nasty surprise.

"Ordered two Happy Meals specifically for the Grinch toys... to receive Hello Kitty [and] Yu-Gi-Oh toys... well done, the kids are crying," one mum posted to X.

But it's not only this family who think the Grinch has been unfair – people in America also want a Grinch Happy Meal.

One posted to X: "Grinch Happy Meal coming to the UK and Ireland. We need this here in the US!" Others are fuming that the Grinch Happy Meal hasn't made its way to the US. "Not here in Los Angeles," one posted to TikTok.

"Why are these not in the US?" another asked. "Ugh! I wish this was in the US," somebody else noted.

But there is rising speculation that the Grinch Happy Meal could be coming to America. "My friend asked McDonalds here in Houston and they said 'not yet'," Julissa Roldan posted to TikTok, implying the Grinch Happy Meal could be on its way.

"Maybe the US will get them too... I hope so," somebody else replied, but an anonymous account posted: "Sorry, no Grinch. I work for the planning team."

Starting on November 26, McDonalds is offering the US a new Pet Simulator Happy Meal.

The holiday-themed Pet Simulator Happy Meals will be available til December 16 in participating McDonalds.
