McFly was founded in 2003 and dominated the charts with hits until announcing their indefinite hiatus in 2016.
TM: Dougie Poynter warns Danny Jones before jungle debut
Ahead of his appearance on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! Danny Jones opened up about the beginnings of his pop-punk band McFly.
The singer embarked on a music career after growing up listening to Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Pink Floyd, Blink-182, and Gary Moore.
At Bury College, where he studied for a BTEC National Diploma in music before meeting his bandmate Tom Fletcher who was on a songwriting team for fellow rockers, Busted.
While studying in Manchester, he responded to an ad asking for a guitarist for a new boyband called V.
Danny turned up to the audition mistaking V for an instrumental band like Busted rather than an all-singing, all-dancing boyband which they were intended to be.

Danny recalled: “I was asked to find a space to dance, I turned up looking like Liam Gallagher and ended up dancing.”
His skills proved impressive as Tom asked him to write songs for him and McFly.
The 38-year-old previously discussed the band's start during the first episode of The Voice Kids, where he joined as a coach.
After 12-year-old Ivy performed NSYNC’s year 2000 hit Bye Bye Bye, he shared: “That song was how I met Tom in my band.

“He taught me that song in the corridor of this theatre and then I sang it back to him and then we started McFly.”
Alongside Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, the band went on to become a sensational success, selling 10 million records worldwide.
As one of the UK’s most successful bands, McFly scored seven number-one singles including All About You, 5 Colours in Her Hair and I’ll Be Ok.
The group also won a Brit Award for Best British Pop Act in 2005 and enjoyed sold-out tours before announcing their indefinite hiatus in 2016.
