Meek Mill has expressed his outrage over the amount of media coverage surrounding the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, lamenting the lack of attention given to murders in his own community.

On Wednesday (Dec. 12), the rap star and Philadelphia native took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter, which has seemingly left him perplexed.

“100 kids get murdered in my hood the press stuck on one CEO,” Meek Mill wrote in a post on his X account, adding, “I will never get it!”

The hitmaker then vowed to help rid his hometown of illegal firearms off the street, through the proper channels. “When somebody put me to the challenge, I’ll collect 1000 guns off Philadelphia street without snitching,” he added. “Just helping clean my community! I ain’t come this far for off games! Only pain and growth.”

Meek also took the time to acknowledge the death of Brian Thompson, but admitted he’s unfamiliar with the late exec, as well as the healthcare industry.

“Rip to that CEO too his life matters too,” he wrote in another tweet. “Never over looking the life of a human unless they’re a danger to society… I don’t know anything about no healthcare ceos except ‘CINQCARE’ because they are for us.”

The murder of Thompson, who was gunned down outside of a New York City hotel earlier this month, has gained national headlines, many of which have been fixated on the alleged gunman, Luigi Mangione. He has since been apprehended and charged with murder.

Mangione, who is currently facing extradition back to New York after being arrested in Pennsylvania, is currently being held without bail.
