Megan Barton Hanson has recounted a terrifying ordeal at the hands of an abusive ex.

Speaking to Paul Carrick Brunson on his podcast We Need to Talk, Megan said she fell pregnant after a former partner removed a condom without her consent during intercourse. This is an illegal practise called stealthing, which is a form of rape.

The Love Island star said the crime took place before she found fame.

Megan claimed her ex, an older man, then became angry as they drove home after she had an abortion.

‘He was like, “You’re disgusting. You just killed our baby.” Then he’s like, “You make me sick”, then he got the seat belt, wrapped it around my neck, bit my nose – this was post nose job – and said, “Think you’re pretty with that new nose?”, bit it, started filming me and goes, “Cry, b***h. Go and tell the camera what you’ve just done”,’ Megan said.

‘I was in so much shock, I couldn’t even have tears. I couldn’t breathe.’

Megan said the man threatened to kill her and she was given ’10 seconds to run’ to safety.

‘We’re on a motorway, cars are speeding past at 70mph. I thought, even if I try [to run] it’s just going to anger him more because he’s definitely going to catch me, so I just stood there frozen,’ she said. Megan was then taken to her parents’ home.

However, the 30-year-old said the ‘nightmare’ continued when he showed up with a crowbar. She added the man then ‘squared up’ to her dad Kevin, and ‘strangled’ her mum Justine. As the family sought safey in their car, the ex threw the crowbar through the back window.

‘I thought he’d literally kill me, the way he was. He was acting literally psychotic,’ she shared.

Megan reported the incident to the police, and after she’d testified in court, he was given a month and a half in prison.
