Meghan Markle has reportedly taken the reins as the CEO of American Riviera Orchard after a fruitless search left her unable to find a suitable candidate for the role.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is said to have conducted several interviews over the weeks since announcing her new business on Instagram nine months ago, but nobody has seemingly met her high standards – until she realized she herself might fit the bill.
Despite encountering a hiccup in the autumn when her US trademark application was knocked back, Meghan has reportedly triumphed over adversity to crown herself head of the company, the Mirror reports.
A source revealed: "She is the CEO of American Riviera Orchard." The Duchess's journey saw another twist recently, with revelations that she's been in talks with Netflix about a potential commercial tie-up with American Riviera Orchard. Reports today suggest these negotiations are underway.
The initiative, which will emphasize the home, garden, food, and lifestyle sectors, hit another bump in the road when its logo ran afoul of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in September due to its complexity.
The USPTO's feedback noted: "The current mark description indicates that the letter 'O' appears in the mark. However, the letter is now clearly visible or highly stylized that it is unrecognizable as a letter. Furthermore, the description is incomplete because it does not describe all the elements in the mark."

However, the Duchess of Sussex has made the necessary adjustments and her brand is now ready to sell a range of kitchenware including cutlery, recipe books, tablecloths, napkins, and jams. In an Instagram video revealing her new venture, Meghan can be seen bustling about in a rustic-style kitchen, arranging white and pink flowers and whisking something in a bowl.
However, there have been numerous departures from Harry and Meghan's staff since then. According to the Daily Mail, at least 18 have left, with nine or more having departed since the couple relocated to California, US.
This news comes amidst concerns from a PR expert that a new documentary about Harry and Meghan could jeopardise any hopes of a royal reunion. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the subjects of a new film, titled 'Harry - The Lost Prince', which is set to air on Germany's ZDF network today.
