Meghan McCain Reveals She Is 'Blessed, Lucky, and Relieved' After Health Scare

Meghan McCain is starting the new year with some good news — and an important reminder.

On Monday, December 30, the 40-year-old daughter of late Senator John McCain revealed on Instagram that she had undergone a biopsy for a mass in her breast. Thankfully, the results came back benign.

"I can't tell you how blessed, lucky, and relieved I am," Meghan wrote, adding a plea to her followers: "PLEASE get your mammograms!!! It is so important and vital and something I know a lot of us put off. I am 40, and this was a scare for me."

The TV personality didn't stop there — she also made sure to show gratitude for the lifesaving work of healthcare professionals. "Doctors, nurses, pathologists, the mammogram coordinators, all of these people are nothing short of selfless angels who walk among us," she expressed.

Wrapping it up, Meghan wished her followers a "happy, blessed, HEALTHY New Year" and reiterated her message: "Please, please ladies - get your mammograms and Pap smears! 🙏🏻♥️."

The post sparked a wave of support from followers, many of whom shared their own health stories.

"I went thru this last year. Double biopsy! So scary! So happy you are all good, friend! Such a great relief going into the new year! 🙏🏼❤️ " one person wrote.

"Been through this twice and the relief of knowing it's benign. No words for it! Glad your ok!" another added.

"Wonderful news. I am a 13 year breast cancer survivor. Ladies get your mammogram 🙏 " chimed in a third.

"Yes SOOOO important!!!! So glad it was nothing ❤️‍🩹🤍 ," said another.

This isn't the first time Meghan has been vocal about health. Earlier this year, the political analyst opened up on her podcast Citizen McCain about body image struggles and societal pressures to lose weight.

Despite the criticism, she emphasized being healthy and happy as her priority. "I've seen firsthand what it looks like when your body deteriorates in front of you," she said. "I am happy to be here. I'm happy to be alive, and I have a husband who thinks I'm hot still."

Meghan tied the knot with her beau, Ben Domenech, in 2017. Together, they share two daughters: Liberty, 3, and Clover, 1.
