Meghan Trainor reveals she ‘cannot smile anymore’ after botched cosmetic surgery

American musician Meghan Trainor has urged fans against getting a popular cosmetic surgery after her own botched experience.

The All About That Bass singer is a loud advocate for body positivity, with her latest message being one of warning after she thought she was enhancing her looks, only to discover she’d made a grim mistake.

Meghan, 30, who is set to go on tour for the first time since welcoming her two children, Riley, three, and Barry, one, with husband Daryl Sabara, told fans she had some cosmetic work done to boost her confidence.

Speaking in depth about her experience on her Workin’ On It podcast, the Grammy winner said she underwent a ‘lip flip’ procedure, in which a small amount of Botox is injected into a person’s upper lip to give them a fuller top lip.

However, what was intended to be a simple change resulted in a big one, as the star said she can no longer smile properly.

‘To all my fellow girlies out there who are in your 30s out there, hi. I got too much Botox, and I need help,’ she said on the podcast. ‘I messed up. Listen, I’ve had Botox like a handful of times, just a few times, just on my forehead, you know.’

She continued to say: ‘And someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip and I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living.’

Meghan added: ‘I cannot smile anymore,’ telling listeners that her brother Ryan first noticed the change, and after pointing it out to her, she couldn’t ‘unsee it’.

‘Everywhere I go, I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile.’

Despite her bad experience with the procedure, Meghan said it hasn’t put her off cosmetic surgery, and she currently has plans to get a breast augmentation due to her ‘saggy’ breasts.

‘I’m getting a boob job because my mommy boobies were full of milk, and now they’re empty, and then they’re full of milk, and now they’re empty. They got big, they got small, they got big, they got small. I’ve lost some weight, and I have, like, saggy sacks as boobs,’ she said.

Justifying her decision, she told listeners that she has ‘amazing’ stage outfits to wear on tour and doesn’t want a ‘supportive bra’ to ruin her look.

Meghan shared that it’s a surgery she has wanted to get her ‘whole life’ and clarified that she isn’t looking to enhance her breast size but rather make them ‘tiny’.

She also assured fans that she isn’t doing it because she dislikes her body, adding, ‘I love my body, and I’ve been wanting this for years’, but that the procedure will be ‘huge’ for her confidence.

The singer did not share when she is undergoing the procedure, but it’s likely to be in the new year as she has almost back-to-back shows across America until December 17.

Depending on what type of augmentation Meghan undergoes, her recovery time could take between four to six weeks.
