While Barron Trump is attending college in New York, he'll have a room at the White House. During an interview with Fox News Channel's Ainsley Earhardt, former First Lady Melania Trump said that she thinks her 18-year-old son will "come and visit" 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
The college student is also welcome to bring friends. "Whatever he would like to do. Yes," Melania told Ainsley. "I feel that as children, we have them till they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them and then we give them the wings to fly."
"I always respect Barron’s yes and no, and what he likes to do, where he would like to be," she continued.
President Donald Trump and Melania's son is a freshman at NYU. He began his first year of college last September. The first lady has previously told Ainsley that Barron chose to live at home. "It was his decision to come here that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that," Melania shared in September.
She later revealed on Fox News Channel's The Five that Barron "loves his classes and his professors." She said, "He’s doing well. He’s thriving and he’s enjoying to be in New York City again."
Barron's father will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, Jan. 20. During her latest sit-down with Ainsley, Melania said, "I will be in the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach."
She added, "But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife and once we are in on January 20, you serve the country."
