Michael Jordan’s son Marcus Jordan was arrested for a DUI, cocaine possession and resisting arrest, In Touch can confirm.
Marcus, 34, was booked into the Orange County Jail in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, February 4, according to police records viewed by In Touch. Once Marcus was detained, he posed for a mug shot and donned a serious expression.
He was approached by cops at 1:14 a.m. in Maitland, Florida, when authorities noticed his headlights on a railroad, according to documents viewed by TMZ. Once police approached his car, they noticed damage – including bumper damage and kicked-up rocks – that indicated he was trying to get out of the area.
Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Marcus during the questioning, and he allegedly told police he had taken a wrong turn and needed help getting the vehicle off the train tracks. His speech was slurred as he spoke to the authorities, and his eyes appeared to be bloodshot and glassy.
Marcus was ordered out of his car and was initially non-cooperative, though the police were eventually able to get him out of the vehicle.
While speaking to the cops, Marcus admitted he was at a gentleman’s club earlier in the evening and drank alcohol. However, he insisted that his BAC was under the legal limit of .08.
He then performed three field sobriety tests and failed, and he was placed under arrest for a DUI. Additionally, officers found a white powdery substance in the pocket of his pants that tested positive for cocaine.
Marcus initially refused to get in the police car, though eventually got in and “was singing the entire way.” He also allegedly refused to provide breath samples once he was under police custody.
Marcus is one of Michael’s five kids. The basketball legend, 61, shares adult children Jeffrey, 36, Marcus and Jasmine, 32, with ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, and he also shares twin daughters Victoria and Ysabel, 10, with his wife, Yvette Prieto.
Michael raised his children to follow in his footsteps and basketball, and Marcus played the sport both in high school and college. Marcus was an athlete at the University of Central Florida from 2009 until August 2012, and he graduated from the college in 2013 with a degree in hospitality management.
Marcus has gone on to become a business owner, and he opened a high-end sneaker store in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs shopping district called Trophy Room in 2016. However, Trophy Room’s physical location closed in 2019 and the products are now only available for purchase online.
In addition to being Michael’s son, Marcus has also made headlines for his past relationship with Larsa Pippen. The former couple met through mutual friends when they attended the same party in 2019. However, they didn’t spark romance rumors until Marcus and Larsa, 50, were spotted on a public outing together in September 2022.
The duo initially denied that they were more than friends, though Larsa and Marcus seemingly confirmed their romance in January 2023 when they were spotted kissing in Miami Beach, Florida.
After their romance was confirmed, they went on to work together on their “Separation Anxiety with Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan” podcast in June 2023. Additionally, they also appeared alongside each other during season 2 of Peacock’s competition reality show The Traitors.
Despite once seeming like a strong couple, the pair called it quits in 2024. “I think it’s off. I mean, it’s off, it is off,” Larsa told Entertainment Tonight about their split in July 2024. “I feel like I’m good. I’m good.”
