Miley Cyrus in ‘Creative Exploration Phase’ for 2025 Comeback Tour That Could ‘Make Her a Fortune’

1 week ago 1

Miley Cyrus may be ready to make a massive touring comeback in 2025! Although it’s been ten years since the singer’s gone on a full-blown tour, a source exclusively tells In Touch that the possibility of bringing in big bucks has her considering hitting the road again.

“The conversation around Miley’s touring plans in 2025 has heated up during the last two months,” the source says. “It’s been years since Miley has done a full-scale tour. Instead, she has surgically focused on songwriting and recording and she’s been rewarded with huge success on that front. But facing the fans in giant arenas on multiple continents can make her a fortune – and at some point, it’s just irresponsible to turn your back on that kind of money.”

Miley, 31, embarked on a small international festival tour in 2022 in support of her album Plastic Hearts. She played five massive shows in five different countries at the time. Before that, her last tour was 2015’s Milky Milky Milk tour. It hit eight cities across the United States in smaller venues than the arenas she was playing in during 2014’s Bangerz tour, which lasted eight months and took the pop star around the world.

Now, “Miley is in the creative exploration phase of figuring out what her next tour will look like,” the insider explains. “This isn’t about topping Taylor Swift or Pink. It’s about reinventing what a giant pop concert actually looks and sounds like. If Miley can find a way to truly innovate with that kind of experience, she’ll go through with it.”

However, the source notes that “the clock is ticking” and Miley needs to “make some very firm decisions about her 2025 touring plans in the next several weeks.” While “everybody is rooting for her to pull this together,” it will take a lot for her to go through with it. “If it isn’t amazing, it’s not worth it for Miley to do,” the source concludes.

Although Miley released the biggest song of her career, “Flowers,” in 2023, along with the album Endless Summer Vacation, she opted not to tour amid the success. “After the last show I did, I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can’t,” she told British Vogue in May 2023. “Not only ‘can’t,’ because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

She added, “Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety. It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because you’re in front of 100,000 people … then you are alone.”

After fans expressed disappointment over Miley’s declaration, she took to social media to clarify. “For clarity I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever,” she wrote on X. “When I win, WE win. Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart. I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus. It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW, & if you’ve been following my career you know that I always change and the way I feel about that could too.”

She expanded on the decision in an August 2023 TikTok video. “What people don’t really understand about touring is the show is only 90 minutes, but that’s your life,” the “See You Again” singer explained. “If you’re performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest. There’s a level of ego that has to play a part that I feel gets overused when I’m on tour. Once that switches on, it’s hard to turn off. And I think when you’re training your ego every single night to be active, that’s the hardest switch for me to turn off.”
